The West Yorkshire Trading Standards Motor Trade Partnership was very pleased to be able to make a formal presentation to:

Speight’s of Dewsbury, Camroyd Street, Dewsbury

The above member received an “Achievement Award”. The Award was in recognition of an unblemished complaints record for a complete year.

The latest complaints analysis has revealed that since the launch of the Partnership over a year ago, complaints against Members has fallen by a dramatic 62%.

The aim of the Partnership was to reduce complaints and increase consumer confidence in the Motor Industry. There are a large number of motors traders who ignore consumer’s statutory rights and make a profit from selling vehicles that are either clocked, have false service records or are unroadworthy.

Councillor Clarke West Yorkshire Trading Standards Chairman said, “ The Service is very proud to be able to present members with these awards. It is clear that Speight’s are extremely committed to consumer satisfaction and to maintain a continually high standard throughout a full year is an outstanding performance, and one, which they should be very proud of”.

Martin Wood Chief Officer of West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service said, “ The Motor Trade Partnership has far exceeded the expectations of the Service, and this is down to both partners striving to achieve the highest standards of consumer care. The focus has now got to be the education of consumers in West Yorkshire as to the benefits of the Scheme. I would urge any consumer who is looking to buy, service or repair a vehicle to “Look for Logo”.
