TRADING STANDARDS AND THE ARCHAEOLOGY & ARCHIVES UPDATE
NOW AVAILABLE


The latest issues of the West Yorkshire Trading Standards and the Archaeology & Archives newsletters are now in circulation. Each quarterly newsletter is distributed throughout the West Yorkshire area to schools, libraries, businesses, community groups and various other information centres.

The Trading Standards Update contains information on consumer legislation changes, facts on consumer rights, courses and many other subjects, which may be of interest to both businesses and the consumer. Amongst many interesting articles in this issue are the work the service undertakes to support a vibrant economy and the recent launch of the Proof of Age Partnership throughout the Wakefield area. The Partnership has been introduced by this service to combat underage sales of products such as alcohol, tobacco and fireworks.

The Archaeology & Archives Newsletters includes articles on the Yorkshire Signpost Project, a project to create an electronic guide to archives in Yorkshire that will be available to the general public, an overview of Timber-framed buildings in West Yorkshire and also Library time capsule.

Also included in the Newsletter is a list of the latest publications that are available and how the West Yorkshire Archaeology Service can help your local group or school.
