CHILLI CONTAMINATED WITH ILLEGAL DYE

Another Food Hazard Warning has been issued by the Food Standards Agency concerning the presence of Sudan 1 in foodstuffs, this time in Pran Naga Chilli Pickle. Sudan 1 is a dye which if taken regularly and over a long period of time could cause cancer.

Phil Ashcroft, Head of Cumbria Trading Standards, said “We are not aware of any outlets in Cumbria selling this product, but consumers may have bought it whilst visiting other parts of the country. If they have bought this product, they should throw it away or return it and request a refund from the store where it was purchased”.
